  The elephant

Elephants are the biggest animals. Elephants are about 3’5 metres tall. The African ones weigh up to seven tons. Elephants are mammals. Their body is grayish with no hair.They have big ears and a long trunk that they use to smell, eat, communicate, manipulate objects and absorb water to bathe or drink. They live in herds.

GIANT PANDA

The giant panda or panda bear is mainly found in south central China. It is easily recognized by the large,distinctive black patches around its eyes,over the ears and across its round body. Its diet is 99% bamboo.

It is a terrestrial animal,it spends  its life roaming and feeding in bamboo forests.

 Giraffes

Giraffes have got a yellow body with brown spots. They live in Africa. They move walking from one place to another and they feed mainly on acacia leaves. They can reach a height of 5’8 m. It usually lives in savannas, grasslands and forests.

REINDEER

DESCRIPTION

The weight of the female reindeer is approximately between  60 and 170 kg. And the male can reach up to 300 kg. Domestic ones have shorter legs and are heavier than wild reindeers.

WHAT DO THEY EAT?

They mainly eat leaves and herbs. They can also eat small mice and birds, as well as eggs.
  

CURIOSITIES

Reindeers in America reach higher proportions than the european reindeer, and unlike this one, they have never been domesticated. Its habitats are the tundra and taiga of the north hemisphere.

  THE  LADYBUG

A ladybug is a red insect with black spots .

They have rounded bodies and often bright colors. Many species feed on aphids, so they contribute to control these pests.

They are from Colombia.

They can fly and walk. They eat grass and insects.

There are more than 4.500 types of ladybugs. They measure between 5 and 8 mm. This can reproduce 4oo eggs.

They have multiple enemies:

• Swallows
• Spiders
• Crisope larvas
• Other ladybugs

They can live as much 1 year.

 Panda Bear

The panda is black and white. It is from China. It uses two legs when it is eating and four when it is not eating. They like bamboo so much!

When a panda is born that’s the only time its mother cares about it.
